Sustainability

Sustainability and community impact

Marine conservation, carbon responsibility and community empowerment: an operating principle, not an initiative.

Marine conservation

Protecting the Coral Triangle.

We support the Coral Triangle Center in Bali and The Nature Conservancy’s Indonesian marine programmes, financially and logistically. A portion of every charter fee funds reef restoration, marine protected areas and research.

Crews enforce a no-touch policy for all marine life, and dive masters brief guests on local ecosystems and responsible snorkelling and diving.

On every vessel

  • No single-use plastic bottles, straws or bags
  • Water purification and reusable containers
  • Reef-safe sunscreen, free for every guest
  • Responsible anchoring, moorings where possible
  • Waste sorted, stored and landed at port
  • Park rules kept in Komodo and Raja Ampat

Carbon responsibility

Measure, reduce, offset.

Travel has a carbon footprint. We track ours and act on it.

Annual audits
Fleet fuel consumption and company operating emissions, audited every year.
Offset programme
Through the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve in Central Kalimantan, a verified REDD+ project protecting peat swamp forest. Every client may offset; we match each contribution.
Efficient operations
Routes, speeds and engine use planned with captains for fuel efficiency, never at the cost of safety or comfort.

Community

Benefits that stay local.

01

Local employment

Over 95% of our crew, guides and ground staff are Indonesian nationals, with paid training and professional development.

02

Source local

Produce, fish and supplies bought from local markets and farmers, from Labuan Bajo to Sorong.

03

Sumba Foundation

Clean water, education and healthcare for remote Sumba communities. Guests can visit and contribute, respectfully.

04

Cultural engagement

We work directly with artisans, village elders and HPI-certified guides, so communities are paid fairly for sharing their heritage.

Where we stand

Becoming a more responsible operator is work in progress.

We commit to transparency and continuous improvement, so Indonesia’s reefs and communities can be enjoyed by generations to come.
